There is no partial service at our company. We don't have the usual talk from the gastro: "Overtime shows your will". All nonsense!
We do our job and we do it at every post.

What makes us special is that we work in a shift system that covers prep in the morning from 8am-5pm and then does lunch service with the 12pm services. In the afternoon, these employees (8 a.m. duty and 12 p.m. duty) prepare the evening service. 3pm/5pm services then come in for evening service and just have to "Send". So the overtime from long services builds up again in the short services and everyone is happy and no one is tormented.

The system stands or falls on the fact that anyone can do anything. There is no obligation to do so and of course everyone is allowed to have their favorite post, but by and large everyone should be able to do everything.
Because just imagine: Before your days off, you're on early duty and you're done by 3:00 or 5:00 p.m. and after your days off, you're on late duty... you notice. Good, isn't it?
